The new Brunette Hair Trend is a saving grace for all of the Brunettes in the world that are frustrated with being left out of the bold color craze. Oil slick hair brings out the colors that were having a difficult time showing on darker hair. This caused people wanting the rainbow look (or what I like to playfully call the Rainbow Trout look) to feel they had to go through a hair bleaching process just so that they have light enough hair for the colors to pop. Celebrity colorist Aura Friedman has been trying to create a hair color that resembles “oil on the ground after it rains”. By the look of these pictures I think she helped the whole world figure out how.
Dark greens, pinks, purples and blues layered side by side of one another is what gives the hair its effect. The people in these pictures are using permanent hair dye to achieve their look (also known as duck feather). We think it looks great but we also do not like the fact that it uses chemical dyes that can be damaging. If you are not sure that this new trend is for you, I would consider testing out the basic look with a less permanent solution. With my opinion out of the way, it is still a great way to achieve a metallic rainbow look for your hair. Happy Dying 😉
